Damage

The most common complaints are stained carpets, smashed ornaments and paint-splattered walls.

“Parents know the cost of clothing and educating their children but rarely put a value on the damage children inflict on the home,” said Janet Connor of More Th>n Insurance which ran the survey of 2,000 families.

She put the national annual cost of damage by children aged three to 18 at £3.55 billion.
